How to Use the Azur Lane XP Calculator
- Pick the XP table: a standard ship on EN/JP, a standard ship on CN, or an Ultra Rare or Decisive ship.
- Enter the current level, any XP already in this level, and the target level. The XP needed shows at once.
- For a battle count, add the node's base XP and set rank, flagship or MVP, morale and the logistics plan.
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| XP needed to reach your target | All XP from where the ship is now to the start of the target level. |
| XP to the next level | What is left on her current bar. |
| Total XP from Lv.1 to target | The full cost of the target level for a fresh ship, useful for comparing ships. |
| XP per battle | Base XP times your multipliers, for one battle node. |
| Battles needed | XP needed divided by XP per battle, rounded up. |
| Level gate on the way | A limit break or Cognitive Awakening you must do before XP can carry the ship past a cap. |
What Is Ship XP in Azur Lane?
Ship XP is the experience a shipgirl earns to gain levels. Levels raise her base stats and her enhancement caps, and they gate limit breaks at Lv.10, 30 and 70.
Ships earn XP from combat, the Dorm, the Lecture Hall and commissions. Commander XP is a separate track for your own account level, which runs to Lv.200 and uses a different table.
The level cap is 125. Lv.100 is a wall: past it a ship needs a Cognitive Awakening, paid in Cognitive Chips, which raises her cap by 5 levels at a time. Reaching Lv.125 needs Awakening+ at Lv.120, paid in Cognitive Arrays.
How Does the Azur Lane XP Calculation Work?
The calculator adds the XP-to-next-level values from the Azur Lane Wiki table, level by level, then takes off the XP already on the bar.
XP needed = sum of XP to next, from current level to target - 1, minus XP already earned. Battles = XP needed / (base XP x rank x slot x morale x plan)- Pick the right table. From Lv.70 to 99 the EN/JP table asks for more XP per level than CN. From Lv.100 both use the same values.
- Add each level's XP to next. Lv.70 to 71 costs 12,100 on EN/JP, 11,000 on CN and 13,200 for a UR ship.
- Subtract the XP already earned in the current level.
- Divide by the XP one battle gives you, and round up to whole battles.
The steepest single step is Lv.99 to 100: 158,400 XP on EN/JP, 132,000 on CN and 171,600 for UR and DR ships.
Azur Lane XP Example: Lv.70 to Lv.100 on EN
A standard ship on the EN server is at Lv.70 with 5,000 XP on her bar. The goal is Lv.100, farming the 12-4 boss (1,123 base XP) with an S rank, as flagship, at very happy morale.
- XP from Lv.70 to 100 on EN/JP: 1,120,675 - 289,500 = 831,175 XP.
- Minus the 5,000 already earned: 826,175 XP needed.
- XP per battle: 1,123 x 1.2 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 2,425.68 XP.
- Battles: 826,175 / 2,425.68 = 340.6, so 341 boss battles.
The same ship outside the flagship slot needs 511 battles. On CN, Lv.70 to 100 costs only 710,500 XP, because the EN/JP table is steeper in that range.
Factors That Change the XP You Need
Server
EN and JP ask for more XP than CN from Lv.70 to 99. Lv.90 to 100 costs 492,000 XP on EN/JP and 410,000 on CN.
Rarity
The wiki says Decisive and Ultra Rare ships need about 20% more XP per level. Common, Rare, Elite and Super Rare ships all use the standard table.
Battle Multipliers
S rank gives 1.2x, very happy morale 1.2x, the flagship 1.5x and the MVP 2x. A sad ship at 0 morale earns only 0.5x.
Level Caps
On EN and JP a standard ship stops at 70, 80 and 90 until limit broken. XP earned at those caps is lost, not stored.
Surplus Experience
At Lv.100, 105, 110, 115 and 120 without an awakening, XP is stored as surplus, up to 3 million. It levels the ship when she awakens. Lv.125 stores nothing.

Standard vs Ultra Rare XP Comparison
Ultra Rare and Decisive ships follow their own table, and the gap widens at high levels.
| Level | Standard, CN | Standard, EN/JP | UR and DR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lv.70 | 289,500 | 289,500 | 347,400 |
| Lv.80 | 417,500 | 430,300 | 501,000 |
| Lv.90 | 590,000 | 628,675 | 708,000 |
| Lv.100 | 1,000,000 | 1,120,675 | 1,241,000 |
| Lv.120 | 3,115,000 | 3,235,675 | 3,779,000 |
| Lv.125 | 4,425,000 | 4,545,675 | 5,351,000 |
Values are total XP from Lv.1, from the Azur Lane Wiki. Lv.100 to 125 costs 3,425,000 XP for a standard ship and 4,110,000 for a UR or DR ship.
When to Use an Azur Lane XP Calculator
Planning a Push to Lv.100
See how many boss runs a new ship needs, and whether the flagship slot is worth giving her.
Deciding on Cognitive Chips
Check how much XP sits between Lv.100 and 120 before you spend chips on awakenings.
Spending XP Packs
Compare XP packs against the XP needed. The wiki notes one T1 XP Pack is 3,000 XP.
Choosing Which Ship to Level
A UR ship costs about 21% more than a standard ship to reach Lv.125 on CN. Plan your farming fleet with that in mind.
Common Mistakes When Leveling Ships
1. Using a Flat XP per Level
XP per level grows fast. Lv.1 to 2 costs 100 XP, and Lv.99 to 100 costs 158,400 on EN/JP. Our old version of this page used a flat 1,000 per level and was far off.
2. Applying a Rarity Bonus to Every Ship
Only Ultra Rare and Decisive ships use a higher table. Rare, Elite and Super Rare ships level at the standard rate.
3. Farming Past a Cap
A ship capped at 70, 80 or 90 on EN/JP loses the XP she earns there. Limit break first.
4. Leaving Morale Low
A sad ship earns half XP. Rotate ships or use the Dorm to keep morale up.
5. Using the Wrong Server Table
Guides written for CN understate the XP needed from Lv.70 to 100 on EN and JP.
Accuracy and Limitations
The XP totals match the Azur Lane Wiki table exactly. The battle count is an estimate, because real battles vary in rank, MVP and morale.
What it calculates accurately
- XP from any level to any target up to 125
- EN/JP, CN and UR/DR tables from the wiki
- XP left on the current bar
- Battles needed at fixed multipliers
- Limit-break and awakening gates on the way
What it does not account for
- Dorm, Lecture Hall and commission XP
- Ship skills and event buffs that add XP
- Fleet level differences and Operation Siren penalties
- Game updates after the wiki revision
- Cognitive Chip and Array costs

How much XP is Lv.100 to Lv.125?
3,425,000 XP for a standard ship and 4,110,000 XP for a UR or DR ship. You also need Cognitive Awakenings and an Awakening+.
Do Super Rare ships need more XP than Rare ships?
No. Common, Rare, Elite and Super Rare ships share the standard table. Only Ultra Rare and Decisive ships need more.
Why does my ship need more XP on EN than on CN?
The wiki shows the EN/JP table asks for more XP per level from Lv.70 to 99. For example, Lv.80 to 81 costs 17,250 on EN/JP and 15,000 on CN.
Do flagship and MVP bonuses stack?
Each is listed as a multiplier, 1.5x and 2x. This tool multiplies them to 3x for a flagship that is also MVP. The wiki does not state the stacking rule, so treat 3x as an estimate.
Does the High-Efficiency Combat Logistics Plan double XP?
Yes. The wiki says it doubles the rewards of a fight, including XP, while doubling the oil and morale cost.
What happens to XP at Lv.100 before awakening?
It is stored as surplus experience, up to 3 million XP. When the ship awakens, the stored XP levels her toward the next cap.
Does Operational Handover give ship XP?
No. The wiki notes Operational Handover uses no ships, so ships gain no experience or affinity.
Is the XP table the same for Commander level?
No. Commander XP uses a separate table and runs to Lv.200. This calculator covers ship XP only.
Is my data saved?
No. The tool runs in your browser. The Save button keeps a result only in this browser on this device.
