The MDCAT aggregate for Pakistani public-sector MBBS and BDS is MDCAT 50 percent plus FSc 40 percent plus Matric 10 percent. Convert each score to a percentage, multiply by its weight and add them. This tool uses the 2025-26 official weightage; always re-check the UHS or PMDC notification for your own admission year, as the criteria can change.

Which Year This Formula Covers
Read this first. This calculator uses the 2025-26 official weightage: MDCAT 50 percent, FSc or HSSC Pre-Medical 40 percent and Matric or SSC 10 percent. That split comes from the PMDC Admission Regulations 2025 and the UHS public-sector MBBS and BDS notice for session 2025-26, both read on 3 October 2026.
When this page was written, UHS and the Punjab government had not yet published the 2026-27 admission policy, and KMU, DUHS and SZABMU had not published their 2026-27 criteria either. The PMDC regulations say each province or admitting university announces its final criteria by 1 September each year, and weightage can change. Before you rely on any number, open the UHS or PMDC notification for your admission year and confirm the weights still read 10, 40 and 50.
How to Use the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator
- Choose what to find. Keep the default to work out your aggregate, or switch to reverse mode to find the MDCAT marks you need for a target.
- Enter your Matric and FSc marks. Type the marks you obtained and the total for each. Use 1100 or 1200 to match your board result.
- Enter your MDCAT marks and total. Take both from your MDCAT result card. Edit the total if your year is different.
- Read the result. The tool shows your aggregate, how much each part adds, and whether your MDCAT clears the public-sector pass mark.
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Aggregate | Your weighted merit percentage out of 100. |
| Matric part (10%) | Your Matric percentage multiplied by 10, the points Matric adds. |
| FSc part (40%) | Your FSc percentage multiplied by 40. |
| MDCAT part (50%) | Your MDCAT percentage multiplied by 50, the biggest single piece. |
| Eligibility / note | Whether your MDCAT meets the 2025-26 pass mark, or the MDCAT score a target needs. |
What Is the MDCAT Aggregate?
The MDCAT aggregate is a single merit percentage that mixes three results: your Matric (SSC), your FSc or HSSC Pre-Medical, and your MDCAT. Public-sector medical and dental colleges rank applicants on this one number, not on the MDCAT alone.
Each result carries a fixed weight. The MDCAT counts for half, FSc counts for 40 percent and Matric for the last 10 percent. A high MDCAT matters most, but strong Matric and FSc marks still move your merit.
The aggregate is not an admission guarantee. A college sets its closing merit each year from how many seats it has and who applies, so the same aggregate can win a seat one year and miss the next.
How Does the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator Work?
Aggregate% = (Matric/MatricTotal x 100) x 0.10 + (FSc/FScTotal x 100) x 0.40 + (MDCAT/MDCATTotal x 100) x 0.50MDCAT marks needed = ((Target - MatricPart - FScPart) / 0.50) x MDCATTotal / 100- Turn each result into a percentage: marks obtained divided by the total, times 100.
- Multiply the Matric percentage by 0.10, the FSc percentage by 0.40 and the MDCAT percentage by 0.50.
- Add the three parts. The sum is your aggregate percentage.
- In reverse mode the tool fixes the Matric and FSc parts, then solves for the MDCAT percentage, and marks, that reach your target.
Because the weights add up to 100, an aggregate always lands between 0 and 100 percent. See how to calculate a weighted grade for the general method behind this.
MDCAT Aggregate Example
A student has Matric 1000 out of 1100, FSc 950 out of 1100 and MDCAT 150 out of 180.
- Matric: 1000 / 1100 x 100 = 90.9091%. Part: 90.9091 x 0.10 = 9.0909.
- FSc: 950 / 1100 x 100 = 86.3636%. Part: 86.3636 x 0.40 = 34.5455.
- MDCAT: 150 / 180 x 100 = 83.3333%. Part: 83.3333 x 0.50 = 41.6667.
- Aggregate: 9.0909 + 34.5455 + 41.6667 = 85.3030%.
Reverse check: to reach an 85% aggregate with the same Matric and FSc, the MDCAT part must be 85 - 9.0909 - 34.5455 = 41.3636, so the MDCAT percentage is 41.3636 / 0.50 = 82.7273%, which is 149 marks out of 180 (rounded up from 148.91). All figures were computed in code.
What Changes Your Aggregate the Most
Because of the weights, the same number of extra marks moves your aggregate by very different amounts.
The MDCAT Carries Half
At 50 percent weight, the MDCAT is the strongest lever. On a 180-mark paper, each extra 10 marks is about 5.56% of the MDCAT, which adds roughly 2.78 points to your aggregate.
FSc Is the Second Half of the Battle
FSc carries 40 percent. On a 1100 total, 55 extra marks is 5% of FSc and adds 2 points to the aggregate, so FSc is nearly as powerful as the MDCAT per percentage point.
Matric Adds the Least
Matric carries only 10 percent, so even a big jump in Matric marks moves the aggregate a little. It still breaks ties when two applicants are close.
The Board Total You Use
Dividing by 1200 when your result was out of 1100, or the reverse, shifts every percentage. Match the total to your own result card.
MBBS vs BDS and the Pass Marks
The aggregate formula is the same for MBBS and BDS, but the MDCAT pass mark differs. These minimums are from the UHS public-sector notice for 2025-26.
| Item | MBBS | BDS |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregate weightage | MDCAT 50, FSc 40, Matric 10 | MDCAT 50, FSc 40, Matric 10 |
| MDCAT pass mark (public sector, 2025-26) | 55% | 50% |
| HSSC minimum (2025-26 notice) | 60% | 60% |
A pass mark lets you apply; it does not set the merit. The closing aggregate is almost always far above the pass mark at competitive colleges.
When to Use This Calculator
After Your MDCAT Result
Combine your three results into one merit number as soon as your MDCAT score is out.
Before the MDCAT, to Set a Target
Use reverse mode with your Matric and FSc already known to see the MDCAT score an aggregate goal needs.
Comparing MBBS and BDS Plans
Your aggregate is the same for both, so compare it against each program pass mark to see where you qualify to apply.
Checking a Blog or App Figure
Re-run the numbers here, where every step is shown, instead of trusting a single figure with no working.
Common Mistakes
1. Using the MDCAT Score as the Aggregate
The MDCAT is only half the aggregate. A strong MDCAT with weak FSc still lowers your merit.
2. Mismatching the Board Total
Entering 1100-based marks against a 1200 total, or the reverse, changes every percentage. Use your own result totals.
3. Guessing the MDCAT Total
Read the total from your MDCAT result card and edit the field if your year is different, rather than assuming.
4. Treating the Aggregate as a Merit Prediction
This tool never predicts admission. Closing merit depends on seats and applicants each year and is not fixed.
5. Using an Old Weightage
Weightage has changed across years. Confirm the 10, 40 and 50 split in the notification for your admission year.
Accuracy and Limitations
The arithmetic is exact for the marks and weights you enter. What it cannot know is how each authority and year will differ.
What it calculates accurately
- The aggregate from the 10, 40 and 50 weightage, to four decimals.
- The MDCAT marks needed for a target aggregate.
- Any board total you enter, including 1100 and 1200.
- The 2025-26 public-sector MDCAT pass marks for MBBS and BDS.
What it does not account for
- Closing merit or your chance of a seat at any college.
- Weightage changes in later admission years.
- Province or university rules that differ from the PMDC default.
- Quota seats, equivalence marks for A-levels, and deductions.
How We Calculate Your Aggregate
Frequently Asked Questions About the MDCAT Aggregate
How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated?
Add MDCAT percentage times 0.50, FSc percentage times 0.40 and Matric percentage times 0.10. Each result is first turned into a percentage of its own total.
What is the weightage for MBBS and BDS admission?
For 2025-26 public-sector admission the weightage is MDCAT 50 percent, FSc 40 percent and Matric 10 percent. It is the same split for MBBS and BDS.
Is the aggregate formula the same for MBBS and BDS?
Yes, the 10, 40 and 50 weightage is the same. The MDCAT pass mark differs: 55 percent for MBBS and 50 percent for BDS in the 2025-26 public-sector notice.
What MDCAT total should I enter, 180 or 200?
Use the total printed on your own MDCAT result card. The field defaults to 180; edit it if your year or test differs.
How many MDCAT marks do I need for an 85 percent aggregate?
It depends on your Matric and FSc. Switch to reverse mode, enter those marks and a target, and the tool shows the exact MDCAT marks required.
Does a higher Matric mark help much?
A little. Matric carries only 10 percent, so it mainly breaks ties. FSc at 40 percent and the MDCAT at 50 percent move your aggregate far more.
My board result is out of 1200, not 1100. What do I enter?
Enter your actual marks and set the total to 1200. The tool divides by whatever total you give, so your percentage stays correct.
Can this tool predict if I will get admission?
No. It only computes your aggregate. Closing merit changes each year with the number of seats and applicants, so no honest tool can promise a seat.
Is the weightage the same every year and in every province?
Not always. PMDC sets a default, but each province or admitting university announces its own criteria yearly. Check the notification for your admission year.
Where does this formula come from?
From the PMDC Admission Regulations 2025 and the UHS public-sector notice for session 2025-26, both read on 3 October 2026 and cited in Sources.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent or stored. Save keeps a copy only in your own browser.
