The UET ECAT merit aggregate for the Intermediate stream is ECAT 33 percent plus First Year (FSc Part-I) 50 percent plus Matric 17 percent. Convert each score to a percentage, multiply by its weight and add them. This tool uses UET Fall 2026 weightage; always re-check the prospectus for your admission year.

Which Year This Formula Covers
Read this first. This calculator uses UET Lahore's Fall 2026 merit weightage. For the Intermediate (FSc) stream that is ECAT 33 percent, First Year (FSc Part-I) 50 percent and Matric 17 percent. The figures come from the UET Undergraduate Prospectus Fall 2026, section "Determination of Merit" (page 20), read on 4 October 2026.
This 17 / 50 / 33 split (Matric / First Year / ECAT) supersedes UET's older 25 / 45 / 30 formula, so do not use the legacy numbers. UET revises admission weightings every cycle. Before you rely on any number, open UET's current Undergraduate Prospectus and the "Determination of Merit" page for your own admission year and confirm the weights still read 33, 50 and 17. If they differ, use the Custom stream to enter the exact weights for your year.
How to Use the ECAT Aggregate Calculator
- Choose your stream. Intermediate/FSc is the default. Switch to O-Level, DAE, B.Sc Eng-Tech, Non-ECAT or Custom if that matches you.
- Enter your ECAT marks. Type the marks you obtained and the total (usually 400) from your ECAT result.
- Enter your academic marks. Use FSc Part-I for Intermediate, 11th-class marks for O-Level, combined 1st+2nd year for DAE, or your 7-semester CGPA for B.Sc Eng-Tech.
- Add Matric if your stream uses it. Intermediate counts Matric 17 percent; Non-ECAT counts it 25 percent.
- Read the result. The tool shows your aggregate, how much each part adds, and whether it clears UET's 50 percent minimum merit aggregate.
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Merit aggregate | Your weighted merit percentage out of 100. |
| ECAT part | Your ECAT percentage multiplied by the ECAT weight for your stream. |
| Academic part | Your First Year, 11th-class, DAE or CGPA percentage multiplied by its weight. |
| Matric part | Your Matric percentage multiplied by its weight (0 for streams that ignore Matric). |
| Eligibility / note | Whether your aggregate clears UET's 50 percent minimum, with the Intermediate-marks and ECAT-appearance rules. |
What Is the ECAT Merit Aggregate?
The ECAT merit aggregate is a single merit percentage that UET Lahore uses to rank engineering, architecture and computing applicants. It mixes your Entrance Test (ECAT) score with your academic record, not the ECAT alone.
For the Intermediate stream the ECAT counts for 33 percent, your First Year (FSc Part-I) result counts for 50 percent, and Matric counts for the last 17 percent. Admission offers are made before the FSc Part-II result is out, which is why the First Year (Part-I) marks carry the academic weight.
The aggregate is not an admission guarantee. UET sets a closing merit for each program every year from how many seats it has and who applies, so the same aggregate can win a seat one year and miss it the next.
How Does the ECAT Aggregate Calculator Work?
Aggregate% = (ECAT/ECATtotal x 100) x 0.33 + (FScPartI/FScPartItotal x 100) x 0.50 + (Matric/MatricTotal x 100) x 0.17- Turn each result into a percentage: marks obtained divided by the total, times 100.
- Multiply each percentage by its stream weight (for Intermediate: ECAT 0.33, First Year 0.50, Matric 0.17).
- Add the weighted parts. The sum is your merit aggregate percentage.
- For other streams the academic component changes: O-Level uses 11th-class marks at 67 percent, DAE uses combined 1st+2nd year at 67 percent, B.Sc Eng-Tech uses the 7-semester CGPA at 67 percent, and Non-ECAT uses Matric 25 percent plus First-Year Intermediate 75 percent.
Because the weights add up to 100, an aggregate always lands between 0 and 100 percent. See how to calculate a weighted grade for the general method, and the CGPA calculator if you need your 7-semester CGPA first.
ECAT Aggregate Example
An Intermediate-stream applicant has Matric 990 out of 1100, FSc Part-I 460 out of 550 and ECAT 300 out of 400.
- Matric: 990 / 1100 x 100 = 90.000%. Part: 90.000 x 0.17 = 15.300.
- FSc Part-I: 460 / 550 x 100 = 83.636%. Part: 83.636 x 0.50 = 41.818.
- ECAT: 300 / 400 x 100 = 75.000%. Part: 75.000 x 0.33 = 24.750.
- Aggregate: 15.300 + 41.818 + 24.750 = 81.87%.
All figures were computed in code and the build fails if this example drifts. Change the stream to see how the weights shift for O-Level, DAE, B.Sc Eng-Tech or Non-ECAT applicants.
Stream Weightings Compared
UET applies a different split depending on how you qualified. All ECAT-based streams keep the Entrance Test at 33 percent; the academic component changes. These are the Fall 2026 figures from the same prospectus page.
| Stream | ECAT | Academic component | Matric |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intermediate / FSc | 33% | First Year (FSc Part-I) 50% | 17% |
| O-Level / equivalent | 33% | 11th-class marks 67% | -- |
| DAE (Diploma) | 33% | 1st + 2nd year (combined) 67% | -- |
| B.Sc Engineering Technology | 33% | 7-semester CGPA 67% | -- |
| Non-ECAT programs | -- | First-Year Intermediate 75% | 25% |
For Non-ECAT programs, if you have no Matric the First-Year Intermediate component counts 100 percent. Leave the Matric field blank and the tool handles this automatically.
What Changes Your Aggregate the Most
Because of the weights, the same number of extra marks moves your aggregate by very different amounts.
The First Year Carries Half
In the Intermediate stream, First Year (FSc Part-I) carries 50 percent, the single biggest piece. Each 1 percent gained in First Year adds about 0.5 points to your aggregate.
The ECAT Carries a Third
ECAT is 33 percent across every ECAT-based stream. On a 400-mark paper, 20 extra marks is 5 percent of the ECAT and adds about 1.65 points to your aggregate.
Matric Adds the Least
Matric carries only 17 percent in the Intermediate stream and nothing in the O-Level, DAE and B.Sc streams, so it moves the aggregate the least where it counts at all.
The Totals You Enter
Dividing by 550 when your First Year was out of 519, or using the wrong ECAT total, shifts every percentage. Match each total to your own result card.
When to Use This Calculator

When UET Changes the Weights
If your admission year uses a different split, use the Custom stream to enter the exact ECAT, academic and Matric weights.
Common Mistakes
1. Using the Old 25 / 45 / 30 Split
UET's Fall 2026 Intermediate weightage is 17 / 50 / 33 (Matric / First Year / ECAT). The older 25 / 45 / 30 figures are out of date.
2. Using FSc Part-II Marks
Admission is offered before the Part-II result, so the Intermediate stream uses First Year (Part-I) marks. Use Part-I unless UET says otherwise for your year.
3. Treating the ECAT Score as the Aggregate
The ECAT is only a third of the merit. A strong ECAT with weak First Year marks still lowers your aggregate.
4. Mismatching the Totals
Entering marks against the wrong total changes every percentage. Use the totals printed on your own result cards.
5. Treating the Aggregate as a Merit Prediction
This tool never predicts admission. Closing merit depends on seats and applicants each year and is not fixed.
Accuracy and Limitations
The arithmetic is exact for the marks and weights you enter. What it cannot know is how UET will set merit in any given year.
What it calculates accurately
- The aggregate from each Fall 2026 stream weighting, to full precision.
- Each component contribution (ECAT, academic and Matric).
- Any marks totals or CGPA scale you enter.
- Custom weights, with a check that they sum to 100.
What it does not account for
- Closing merit or your chance of a seat in any program.
- Weightage changes in later admission years.
- Equivalence marks for O-Level/A-Level set by IBCC.
- Quota seats, deductions, and program-specific rules.
How We Calculate Your Aggregate
Frequently Asked Questions About the ECAT Aggregate
How is the ECAT aggregate calculated?
For the UET Intermediate stream, add ECAT percentage times 0.33, First Year (FSc Part-I) percentage times 0.50 and Matric percentage times 0.17. Each score is first turned into a percentage of its own total.
What is the ECAT weightage for UET Fall 2026?
For the Intermediate stream it is ECAT 33 percent, First Year 50 percent and Matric 17 percent, from the UET Undergraduate Prospectus Fall 2026, "Determination of Merit" page.
Is the old 25, 45, 30 ECAT formula still used?
No. UET's Fall 2026 Intermediate weightage is 17, 50 and 33 for Matric, First Year and ECAT. The older 25, 45, 30 split is out of date, so do not use it.
Do I use FSc Part-I or Part-II marks?
The Intermediate stream uses First Year (FSc Part-I) marks, because offers are made before the Part-II result. Use Part-I unless UET states otherwise for your admission year.
How does the aggregate work for O-Level or DAE students?
O-Level and DAE keep ECAT at 33 percent, with the academic component at 67 percent (11th-class marks for O-Level, combined 1st+2nd year for DAE). Choose that stream in the tool.
How is the B.Sc Engineering Technology aggregate found?
It is ECAT 33 percent plus a 7-semester CGPA at 67 percent. The tool converts your CGPA to a percentage using the scale you enter, usually 4.0.
What is the minimum aggregate for UET admission?
The Fall 2026 prospectus requires a minimum merit aggregate of 50 percent, plus at least 60 percent Intermediate for Engineering, Architecture and Computer Engineering, or 50 percent for Science, Technology and Business programs.
Can this tool tell me if I will get admission?
No. It only computes your aggregate. UET closing merit changes each year with seats and applicants, so no honest tool can promise a seat.
What ECAT total should I enter?
Use the total on your own ECAT result, usually 400. The field defaults to 400; edit it if your year or test differs.
What if UET changes the weights for my year?
Open the UET prospectus for your admission year and confirm the split. If it differs, use the Custom stream to enter your own ECAT, academic and Matric weights, which must sum to 100.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent or stored. Save keeps a copy only in your own browser.
