A selfish talent jewel adds +65 to one Wizard101 pet stat and raises that stat's max by the same amount. Ravenwood Academy gives the +65, and Final Bastion lists Mighty as +65 max Strength. So 230 Strength plus Mighty is 295, which is 25 below the raised max of 320, not 40 over the listed 255.

How to Use the Wizard101 Pet Jewel Calculator
- Pick the pet stat the jewel boosts: Strength, Intellect, Agility, Will or Power.
- Enter the pet's current value for that stat from the pet screen, without any selfish bonus.
- Keep the jewel bonus at 65 for a selfish talent jewel, or type the number your jewel shows. Read the new stat and how it compares with the raised max.
Here is what each result means:
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Stat with the jewel | The current stat plus the jewel bonus. |
| Result vs raised max | How far the new value sits below the raised max, or whether it is at it. |
| Percent of raised max | The new value as a share of the raised max. |
| Listed max -> raised max | The listed max from Ravenwood Academy and the max after the jewel bonus is added. |
| Points still trainable | The raised max minus the new stat, or 0 if the stat is already there. |
What Is a Wizard101 Pet Jewel Stat Bonus?
A selfish talent jewel adds its bonus to one of the pet's five stats and raises that stat's max by the same amount. Ravenwood Academy's training guide says selfish talent jewels give +65 to their respective stats. Final Bastion's selfish talents guide lists them as max boosts, such as Mighty at +65 max Strength and Powerful at +65 max Power.
A pet has one jewel socket. Final Bastion's beginner guide says the pet gains that socket at Ancient, and the socket takes a star jewel. Star jewels cover many effects beyond stats, so this calculator is for the stat-boosting kind.
The five stats have different listed max values. The table below shows each one and the raised max after a +65 jewel.
| Stat | Listed max | Raised max with +65 |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | 255 | 320 |
| Intellect | 250 | 315 |
| Agility | 260 | 325 |
| Will | 260 | 325 |
| Power | 250 | 315 |
| Total | 1,275 | 1,340 (one jewel) |
Only one stat gets the bonus, because the pet has one socket. For how each stat feeds talents, read how Wizard101 pet stats work.
How Does the Pet Jewel Calculator Work?
The calculator adds the jewel bonus to the current stat and to that stat's listed max, then compares the two.
New stat = current stat + jewel bonusRaised max = listed max + jewel bonusPoints still trainable = raised max - new stat (0 if negative) and Percent = new stat / raised max x 100- Look up the listed max for the chosen stat: 255, 250, 260, 260 or 250.
- Add the jewel bonus to the current stat.
- Add the same bonus to the listed max to get the raised max.
- Subtract the new stat from the raised max for the points training can still add, and divide for the percentage.
If the current stat is already above the listed max, the new stat lands above the raised max too. The tool flags that as an input to check, because the stat should be entered without any selfish bonus.
Pet Jewel Calculation Example
Suppose your pet has 230 Strength and you socket a selfish talent jewel such as Mighty, worth +65.
Calculation: new Strength = 230 + 65 = 295. The raised max = 255 + 65 = 320. So the pet is 320 - 295 = 25 below the raised max, or 295 / 320 x 100 = 92.2% of it.
What it means: the jewel does not put the pet 40 over the max. It lifts the stat and the max together, so the pet keeps the 25-point gap it had before, and training can still close it.
Factors That Change the Jewel Result
Three inputs change the answer, and the stat choice matters most because the max values differ.
Which Stat You Boost
Agility and Will list a max of 260, while Intellect and Power list 250. A +65 jewel raises those to 325 and 315. The same 230 plus 65 sits 30 below the raised max on Agility but 20 below on Power.
The Pet's Current Stat
Because the jewel lifts the stat and its max by the same amount, the gap to the raised max equals the gap to the listed max before the jewel. A pet already at the listed max lands exactly at the raised max.
The Jewel's Bonus
The +65 preset is for selfish talent jewels. Other jewels can show different numbers, so type the value your jewel shows.
The Pet's Stage
The socket opens at Ancient. Final Bastion notes that some jewel talents need an Ultra pet, so check a jewel's requirement before you train. The pet leveling cost calculator helps you budget the XP.
Jewel Bonus vs Training Stats
A jewel and training both raise stats, but in different ways.
| Method | What it changes | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Selfish talent jewel | Adds +65 to one stat and raises that stat's max by 65, through the single socket | A finished pet with the socket free |
| Training games and snacks | Raise stats a few points at a time | A pet still below its max |
| Other star jewels | Add effects such as talents or cards instead of stats | Filling a talent the pet did not manifest |
Because a pet has one socket, a stat jewel competes with every other jewel type. Decide what the pet needs most before you socket.
When to Use the Jewel Calculator
Choosing Which Stat Jewel to Use
Run each candidate stat with its current value. The result shows the new stat, its raised max and how many points training can still add.
Checking a Pet Before Ultra
Ravenwood Academy says raising a pet to Ultra gives a chance at one Tier 1 selfish talent jewel, such as Mighty. Model the +65 on the stat you expect before you commit to the extra training.
Comparing Two Finished Pets
Enter each pet's stat to compare them with the same jewel, then check the whole pet against the best Wizard101 pets by school guide.
Common Pet Jewel Mistakes
1. Assuming Every Stat Has the Same Max
The listed max values differ by stat, from 250 to 260. Always pick the right stat first.
2. Planning Two Stat Jewels
A pet has one jewel socket, so only one jewel bonus applies at a time.
3. Using +65 for Every Jewel
The +65 figure is for selfish talent jewels. Type the real number for any other jewel.
4. Reading the Jewel as Over the Max
A +65 jewel does not push 230 Strength 40 over the max. Final Bastion lists selfish talents as raising the max, so compare the new stat with the raised max, not the listed one.
5. Entering a Stat That Already Has the Bonus
If the pet screen already includes a selfish bonus, the stat can read above the listed max. Enter the stat without the bonus, or the tool flags the input.
6. Socketing Before Ancient
The socket opens at Ancient, so a younger pet cannot take a jewel yet.
Accuracy and Limitations
The addition and comparison are exact for the numbers you enter and the listed max values on this page.
What it calculates accurately
- The new stat after adding the jewel bonus
- The raised max, the gap to it and the percentage of it
- The points training can still add under that raised max
What it does not account for
- Game rules beyond adding the bonus to both the stat and its max
- How a stat change affects any talent's strength
- Jewels that grant talents, cards or other effects
- Species-specific limits or future game changes
How We Calculate the Jewel Effect
Wizard101 Pet Jewel FAQ
How much does a selfish talent jewel add to a pet stat?
Ravenwood Academy's training guide says selfish talent jewels give "+65 to their respective stats". The calculator uses 65 as its default bonus.
Does a selfish jewel raise the max?
Yes. Final Bastion's selfish talents guide lists Mighty as "+65 max strength" and Powerful as "+65 max power". So Mighty takes the Strength max from 255 to 320.
How many jewel sockets does a Wizard101 pet have?
One. Final Bastion's beginner guide says a pet gains a jewel socket at Ancient, and that socket holds a star jewel.
What are the max pet stats in Wizard101?
Ravenwood Academy lists Strength 255, Intellect 250, Agility 260, Will 260 and Power 250, for a total of 1,275 before any selfish bonus.
Is 230 Strength plus a +65 jewel over the max?
No. It gives 295 Strength against a raised max of 320, so the pet is 25 below the raised max and training can still add those points.
Why does the tool warn when my stat is above the listed max?
A current stat above the listed max usually already includes a selfish bonus. Enter the stat without that bonus so the jewel is not counted twice.
Which stat should my jewel boost?
Run each stat you are considering and compare the results. The best choice depends on the talents your pet relies on, which this tool does not score.
Can I use this for a jewel that is not +65?
Yes. Type the number your jewel shows in the jewel bonus field, from 0 to 200. The tool raises the max by the same number.
Where do the selfish talent jewels come from?
Ravenwood Academy says raising a pet to Ultra gives a chance at one Tier 1 selfish talent jewel, such as Mighty, and notes they can also be crafted.
Is my data saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers. Only results you choose to Save stay in this browser.
