How Is a HYROX Target Station Budget Calculated?
Subtract the eight-run total and Roxzone time from the target finish. The time left is the maximum combined station budget for that goal.
The proportional target keeps each station's current share of total station time. It shows one mathematically consistent budget, not the only training plan.

HYROX Station Split Worked Example
The default Open example has eight station splits totaling 35:20. An average run pace of 5:30 creates a 44:00 run total, and Roxzone adds 7:00.
The estimate is 3:40 inside the target. This margin can cover slower runs, longer transitions, penalties, or station variation, but it is not a guarantee.

How Does the HYROX Station Bottleneck Score Work?
The largest entered split is labeled the bottleneck because it contributes the most station time. That does not automatically make it the easiest place to save time.
Variability compares spread across stations with the average. Different tasks naturally take different times, so it is a descriptive number, not a quality grade.
How to Record Accurate HYROX Station Splits
Use the same timing boundary for every workout and every test. Consistent inputs make changes across training sessions easier to trust.
- Choose a start point. Start each station clock at the same event marker, such as the workout entry line or first legal movement.
- Choose an end point. Stop at the final legal repetition or at the workout exit line. Write down which rule you used.
- Separate Roxzone time. Keep travel, equipment setup, and water stops out of the workout split when possible.
- Test under similar conditions. Match loads, distance, movement standards, surface, and rest. A fresh gym test is not the same as a station after several hard runs.
Official race results are best for reviewing a completed event. Training splits are useful for planning, but record penalties and missed repetitions because they can change the comparison.
For Doubles, record the team station split and note each partner's work share. The team time alone cannot show whether the handoff plan was balanced.
How to Use HYROX Target Station Splits
Treat proportional targets as a starting budget, then adjust them for the stations where safe improvement is most realistic.
A target table that cuts every station by the same percentage is mathematically fair, but performance does not improve evenly. An athlete may gain more from smoother Wall Ball sets than from trying to force a faster sled that causes later run pace to fall.
Start with one or two changes you can test. For example, save 20 seconds through cleaner Burpee Broad Jump rhythm and 15 seconds through planned Wall Ball breaks. Repeat the session under similar conditions before changing the full race goal.
Keep a small time reserve for traffic, judge instructions, equipment setup, and normal day-to-day variation. A plan with no reserve can miss its goal even when every average input looks reasonable.
